Vertis FAQS

I haven't received my 1099s from Charles Schwab, annuities, etc. What should I do?
K
L
Most 1099s are sent out by January 31st, but if you haven't received them by the end of February (the mail usually takes about 7-10 business days to arrive), your quickest option may be to call the carrier directly to have them resent.

Alternatively, we can assist by calling the carriers for you if you prefer. For Charles Schwab, we can often pull the 1099s as PDFs and send them electronically to you. We would just need your email address. However, if you prefer, we can also print them off and mail them to you.

I would like to withdraw money from my Charles Schwab account. How do I go about this?
K
L

Please call us at 774-874-3686 or email your financial advisor, and they will contact you. Let one of our phone representatives know that you would like funds withdrawn from your Charles Schwab account and specify the amount you'd like to withdraw. This message will be passed on to the appropriate team, who will submit the withdrawal request to Charles Schwab. It may take up to two business days for the funds to reach your bank account. If any additional follow-up is needed regarding the withdrawal request, one of our team members will reach out to you directly.

What is estate planning, and why is it important?
K
L

Estate planning is the process of organizing how assets will be managed and distributed upon death or incapacitation. It includes creating wills, trusts, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and tax strategies to ensure a smooth transition of wealth. Proper estate planning helps avoid probate, minimize taxes, protect beneficiaries, and prevent family disputes.

What is the difference between a will and a trust?
K
L

A will outlines asset distribution and guardianship wishes but must go through probate, making it public and time-consuming. A trust, on the other hand, can manage assets during and after life, bypassing probate while offering privacy and more control over distributions. Trusts are ideal for all estates, while wills work well for simpler plans.

Why did you need to rebrand the company?
K
L

Over the years, the focus and business model shifted. We wanted to ensure that our company was aligned with these changes and better reflected the services and customer care we provide. This rebranding will help our clients better understand the full range of services we offer.

What other changes are coming with this rebranding?
K
L

All of the technology services and systems we use will have a new look. We will also provide high-quality content across all of our systems moving forward. Our overarching goal is to keep our clients up to date and informed in our industry.

Why can't I ever get a hold of anyone? It is so hard to navigate the phone system.
K
L

Our phone system is designed to ensure that you reach the right department. If you follow the prompts and leave a message, someone will return your call before the end of the business day.

How do I access the Tax Portal?
K
L

You should have received a "Welcome to Your New Client Portal" email, which will allow you to securely upload all your tax documents. This process is done through our Retirement Analyzer software.

Will I get a 1099 from the company that holds my annuity? Did you take any withdrawals from your annuity last year?
K
L

If you took any withdrawals, they will send a 1099. If you did not take any withdrawals, you will not receive one.

How can I ensure my accounts are performing the way they should be?
K
L

If you have any questions about your accounts, please call our office, and we will schedule a meeting with your team.

Is there a fee for your services?
K
L

How often do we have meetings?
